Politics, Prolife, and Christ’s Return: My Crazy Theory

Okay, I guess I’m getting suckered into doing a political post. I like Mike Huckabee for President because he is pro-life. I’ve been reading lots of blogs for him and against him, and frankly, they bore me just a little, as politics aren’t my thing. The only thing I am passionate about regarding politics is pro-life. However, I do have a theory that affects the political arena, so I thought I would share my harebrained idea with you all.

Here it is; This world must get worse before Christ will return. Since God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, if you look at His past behavior, you can see that HE waited as long as He could before destroying Sodom and Gomorrah. It had to get really bad to where He could stand it no more and then He destroyed those cities. It was so bad there that when visitors came, the townsfolk mobbed the streets demanding that the visitors come out to have sex with them. Can you imagine? As immoral and awful as this world is, we aren’t even close to that, thank God.

Now consider the flood. There were only 11 (I think that number is right) moral people in the whole world. Just 11, everyone else was so bad, God could not stand it any more and flooded the entire world, killing all people, even all the animals, everyone had to die, except for the few moral people safe on the boat.

So, I think the Second Coming of Christ will not occur until it gets a lot worse on this earth. I for one am so sick of the abuse in this world, abortion, murder, child abuse, animal abuse, drug abuse, aids, cancer, and all the other products of Satan, that I can’t wait for God to put an end to it all. However, I don’t think He is going to end it until it gets so bad that He can no longer stand this world.

Because America is a world super power, my guess is God will use us in someway to fulfil His plan. I have no idea how. Perhaps we will become the second Sodom and Gomorrah that Revelation speaks of, or maybe we’ll have no role at all. It’s just a guess that we will be used since we’re the most powerful nation on earth.

All of the above is building to my political point, which you can probably guess. I pray for a godly president and I will NEVER vote for anyone who is not pro-life. I don’t care if the candidate is a man, woman, black, or white, if they are Democratic, Republican, or Independent. I don’t care if they raise my taxes, or lower them. I only care if they murder unborn babies or not. I will vote my conscious to the Lord in this matter, and if I lose, I am not worried. God is in control and I believe it MUST get worse before God will send Jesus to take us away. I am very anxious for Christ’s return, but afraid of the evil that is coming. I don’t want to live through anything close to Sodom and Gomorrah, nor do I want my kids too.

So, I think all these bad laws, bad presidents, radical crazy people like Bin Laden who teach hate, etc. are all steps toward further deterioration of this world. It might be God’s will for a really bad president to get into office. Not that I plan to vote for one, that isn’t my job. But I am certainly not going to worry one iota about it.

So, that is my wild theory and because of it, I vote pro-life and don’t care whom wins. Just being honest.

Oh, and one final thing regarding Lot’s wife. I would have looked back too. I know I would have. I am too curious, noisy, and compassionate not to turn around at the screams. So no judgement here toward her, as I probably would have done the exact same thing. Again, just being honest.

  1. Quote: “I only care if they murder unborn babies or not.”

I agree, but the President does not murder them. Nor does he even allow them or not allow them to be murdered.
    The Supreme Court does that.
They are the ones who brought us the decision in Roe v. Wade.
So, the President doesn’t have a say in this except for the chance to nominate NEW justices.
That is why it is important to know who will do this.
This is what will make the difference in whether abortion will end or go on.
I kind of hope that all of this is quickly leading to Christ’s return, selfishly yes, but I do hope!

  2. Update on Daniel: He’s having a tough time right now – they think that since he was a preemie 10 years ago recovery is harder for him and adding on to that his blindness. Please keep him and his family in your prayers! I have several postings about him at my blog – just search with keyword Daniel. Thanks for your prayers!

  3. For not being “into” politics, that was a very insightful post! I always support pro-life presidents too, and I think this election will be even more crucial because this president will probably appoint several justices to the bench. If he appoints those with pro-life views, the laws could change in our favor. Roe vs. Wade could be overturned altogether. What a victory that would be!
But to keep it in the perspective of God’s got it all in His plan–that’s the best way to have peace in such a heated political climate.

    Thanks for the thoughtful post!
