Summer 2011 Announcements
1) Revisions are finally complete on my first two manuscripts, Perfect Witness and Write Steps. Mini-proposals for both manuscripts have been submitted for editor appointments at the Oregon Christian Writer's Summer Conference next month. My hopes are high—may the Lord's will be done.
2) New author and old friend, Dr. Randy Butler, has agreed to foreword my devotional, Write Steps.
3) The Oregon Christian Writer's Conference is set for 08-15-11 through 08-18-11. I am super excited to attend for the first time in four years.
4) Writing is well underway on my third book, Relentless DA. I love the beginning of this book, which was super easy to write. However, the middle has proved to be much more difficult than my first two books! I pray for God's wisdom and help to keep up the high level of interest, action, and character strength that I've started with. I really need the Lord's help!
5) I have been battling pneumonia for a couple weeks. I have never been so sick in my life—fever spiking at 102, weak and tired every day. Pneumonia reduces some of the oxygen in the blood, which causes the weakness. My doctor has prescribed an inhaler, which is all new to me, but I can sure tell a different in my strength. Next week, I even get to start walking again.
6) One of my goals for this year is to walk in a half marathon every quarter. I've completed two and the third one is scheduled for September in Disneyland. I am super excited, as my daughter and her husband will be meeting me there for a week of fun. I need to get back into training, so I have no time for stupid pneumonia!
7) Another goal, if the Lord helps me A LOT, is to finish Relentless DA by the end of the year. My critique group has started new Saturday deadlines, so this will help me to stay the course. That and the Lord. Truly, I have never needed His help so much as I do with this third manuscript.
